Andre Romelle Young became famous under his stage moniker Dr. Dre.
Dr. Dre would struggle through school, and wanted to focus on the entertainment industry. Inspired by Grand Master Flash, he would often attend a club called The Eve After Dark to watch many DJ's and rappers who performed there live. Eventually, he would earn the right to DJ there, and met Antoine Carraby an aspiring rapper. He would soon join the musical group World Class Wreckin' Cru which was an international sensation in West Coast hip hop.
His experience here, would lead Dr. Dre to meet the rapper Ice Cube. They collaborated together to record songs for Ruthless Records a company run by local rapper Eazy-E. They formed the group N.W.A, and released a successfull debut album, Straight Outta Compton.
